Leah Marie Remini is an American actress, author, former Scientologist, and Scientology critic. She starred as Carrie Heffernan on the long-running CBS comedy series The King of Queens and later co-hosted The Talk in 2010–11.
Remini has enjoyed a career spanning over 20 years. Emmy Award winner, New York Times Best Selling author, actress and producer; Leah Remini was baptized Roman Catholic and raised in the Catholic tradition during her early childhood. When she was nine years old, her mother joined the Church of Scientology, and Remini was thereafter raised as a Scientologist.
Remini left the organization in 2013 and began public criticism of Scientology and in the fall of 2015, Remini released a memoir titled Troublemaker. The tell-all book explores an eye-opening, insider account of Remini’s tumultuous and heart-wrenching 30-year-plus association with the Church of Scientology. Troublemaker quickly became a New York Times bestseller, as did the paperback edition, which was released earlier this year.
